Twistori

Twistori is the first step in an ongoing social experiment based on Twitter. Created by the multi-talented Amy Hoy and script.aculo.us creator Thomas Fuchs, this application takes Twitter posts — known as “tweets” — and manages to make something useful and interesting out of them. Who would have thought?

The site is based around six simple keywords: love, hate, think, believe, feel, and wish. After a word is selected the page fills up with a never ending scroll of posts containing that keyword. It’s entertaining and intriguing to read these posts, which are often out of context given that we don’t who’s writing them, and fill in the blanks. It also gives some insight into current events that people are discussing; apparently the Emmy awards are on TV right now.

Along with the interesting concept, the site’s design doesn’t fail to impress. Without relying on a single image they’ve used typography and vibrant colour to make it very appealing. A very minimalistic layout allows you to focus on the posts rather than the interface, which could have been cluttered with features and information. Unfortunately this also means leaving out some useful information, such as the post’s author.

Describing it really doesn’t do it justice. Go see it for yourself: Twistori
